Coleman Fuel 1 Gallon
Coleman fuel is a petroleum naphtha product marketed by The Coleman Company. Historically called white gas (not white spirit), it is a liquid petroleum fuel (100% light hydrotreated distillate) usually sold in one gallon cans It is used primarily for fueling lanterns and camp stoves. Additionally, it is a popular fuel for fire dancing. Originally, it was simply casing-head gas or drip gas which has similar properties. Drip gas was sold commercially at gas stations and hardware stores in North America until the early 1950s. The white gas sold today is a similar product but is produced at refineries with the benzene removed.

Kenya Stove – Revolutionizing how people cook
2014 Update!
It’s been a while since we’ve been in touch, but we’ve been hard at work here in Kenya for almost the last two years. Thanks again to everyone for all of your support, you enabled us to get this project started, and we’ve come a long way since!
To date, we’ve designed 5 stoves that are either on the market, or about to be. We’ve designed stoves for the artisan sector, have trained more than 30 artisans on how to produce the new designs, and have introduced them to new types of tools and processes for building stoves. In addition, we’ve designed stoves for NGO’s and businesses.
We’ve also finally launched our own product the Jiko.Joy! Jiko is the word for cook stove in Kiswahili. It is a high-efficiency charcoal stove that can also be used as a gasifier to burn wood chips with a simple add-on. We are currently producing about 50 stoves per week, but this will increase to more than 100 per day by the end of this year.
So far we haven’t been able to make them fast enough to satisfy demand. We are fundraising at the moment to buy a CNC plasma machine that will increase our production capacity from 50 stoves per week to 500 per week. We currently employ 5 people full-time, and this will increase to about 20 by the end of the year as we scale.
