Wild Joe's Beef Jerky is a small, family company. Joe Lachenman started in butcher shops throughout the 1970's and '80's. One of the many items he made himself was beef jerky. Eventually, he could not keep up with the orders for his jerky. His customers continually told him that his quality of jerky just was not available in stores. He decided to close his shops and focus on making the highest quality beef jerky he could.
Wild Joe's Beef Jerky was born in 1990 with the encouragement of his wife, Colleen Jo (no kidding)....Mrs. Wild Joe, his friends, and family....and of course his loyal following of "wild" fans. Followed the next year by the birth of their daughter Savannah Jo....Little Wild Joe. Joe leased space from a plant in Cincinnati called HMI. In 1997, he was able to purchase his own USDA manufacturing plant.

Kickass Beef Jerkey was founded in the early 1950's by Charles Littel. He made and sold the Jerkey in his own butcher shop that was located in Sauk City, Wisconsin. Forty Five years later, his grandson Charles Littel stumbled across the original recipe while rummaging through some old keepsakes. Since then, he has partnered with other companies to bring you the Kickass label you currently see today!
Kickass products have been sold at various establishments throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan throughout the past 12years.
By request of many Kickass customers, we have opened our online store and now have the ability to sell direct to the consumer. With your help and support, the Kickass Label will be recognized and sold nationwide.

Our animals are field harvested from over 100 different ranches, totaling about 1 million combined acres, located in central and south Texas. These animals are truly wild - not farmed or pen-raised. The free-range, all natural meat they produce is of the highest quality. Fine dining restaurants in almost every state use our wild game products. The strongest markets are New York, California, and Texas where large metropolitan areas support many fine dining establishments. Our product line includes venison from three different species of deer (axis, sika, and fallow), two species of antelope (blackbuck and nilgai - or South Texas Antelope) and wild boar. We maintain strict quality control by limiting our product line and selling exclusively the products we actually harvest and process. We are an artisan producer of quality meats, not a middle-man or a broker. We encourage you to learn more about our products and what makes us special.

THE FOUNDATION FOR JACK LINK'S BEGAN IN THE 1880S WHEN JACK'S GREAT-GRANDFATHER, CHRIS, CAME TO AMERICA FROM THE OLD COUNTRY AND SETTLED IN THE WILDERNESS OF NORTHERN WISCONSIN. HE DIDN'T BRING MUCH WITH HIM, BUT HE DID BRING HIS FAMILY'S SAUSAGE RECIPES. SOON HIS SAUSAGES AND SMOKED MEATS BECAME LEGEND AMONG THE PIONEER FAMILIES.
While hunting with his family, Jack had the idea to make jerky with his great-grandfather's Old World recipes. Working with his sons they created a jerky that was so good friends and neighbors were always asking for more. At this point they created their first product, Jack Link's Beef Steaks, and began selling it throughout the region.
Chris' son Earl, opened the town's first general store and butcher shop and continued the family tradition of making the best meat products. In 1916, Earl's son, Wolf Link, was born and learned the meat business at his father's side. He grew up and became a successful cattleman, raising the finest beef in the region. Before too long, Wolf had a son named Jack. Jack Link. And that's where things really took off.
